NGALA FAMILY GIVES UP MAYORAL HOUSE
By Jillo Kadida, Daily Nation, 31 March 2011
Former Lands minister Katana Ngala’s wife has entered into a deal with the State and handed back the Mayor’s parlour to the City Council of Nairobi.
Mrs Isabella Vicky Nzalambi also agreed to pay some Kshs 2 million to the Council in rent arrears.
The money is supposed to be paid in three equal monthly instalments as rent for the period 28 February 2003 to 30 April 2011 according to a consent signed between the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission and Mrs Nzalambi.
The agreement signed before the court by lawyer Francis Gikonyo for KACC and Katwa Kigen for Mrs Nzalambi means that the property’s title, which was given to the latter, will be declared null and void.
This brings to an end a court case filed by the Commission against Mrs Nzalambi seeking to recover the property.
