EACC HAILED FOR INITIATING MEETING FOR CONSTITUTIONAL COMMISSIONS

November 8th 2017-The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission convened a meeting of eight independent constitutional Commissions aimed at creating strategies to steer the nation towards national dialogue and harmonious co-existence after the General Election.

The Commission was hailed by the respective heads and representatives of the Commissions for taking the initiative to initiate the forum.

EACC Chairperson Archbishop (Rtd) Eliud Wabukala addressing the meeting

The Commissions represented during the meeting are, EACC, Public Service Commission, National Gender and Equity Commission, Commission on Administrative Justice, Police Service Commission, Independent Policing Oversight Authority, National Cohesion and Integration Commission, and the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights.

All the representatives of the eight commissions were in agreement at the forum held at Sarova Panafric Hotel Nairobi that there is a serious political and ethnic polarization in Kenya after the country went through two elections. The parties reached a unanimous decision that the move by EACC be embraced by all and possible approaches be used to enable the nation to heal.

After  a successful engagement , the parties agreed that a further meeting be held with all the relevant stakeholders included so as to come up with practical strategies and action plan that will ensure that stability, peace, security, harmony and cohesion are guaranteed in our nation
