FINALIZATION OF THE JOINT FAITH BASED ORGANISATIONS AND EACC PARTNERSHIP FRAMEWORK
The Commission has held a second meeting with faith based organizations to finalise the partnership framework that will see the religious sector commit to support the fight against corruption in Kenya.
The leaders of the various faith based organizations in Kenya met with the EACC leadership at the Sarova Panafric Hotel in Nairobi to harmonize the framework concept before its formal adoption and implementation. The framework agreement highlights key areas of engagement which will form the basis for a comprehensive action plan for implementation once adopted.
The strategy seeks commitment of the faith based organizations to support the work of the Commission through use of places of worship to condemn corruption and lead the faithful towards discovering Gods position and his direction on living a life of integrity.
Through a technical team representing both the Commission and the Faith based organizations, a results framework and program of action will be developed for approval by both parties. The technical team will also formulate various programs aimed at educating the flock for implementation.
The faith based organizations represented are; Inter-Religious Council of Kenya (ICK), National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), Hindu Council of Kenya (HCK) Evangelical Alliance of Kenya (EAK), the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM), Organization of African Institute Churches- Kenya (OAIC-K), Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB), National Muslims Leaders Forum (NAMLEF), Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) and SHIA Ithna Asharia.
