DANISH AMBASSADOR CALLS ON EACC CHAIR

27, April 2017: The Royal Danish Ambassador to Kenya, Her Excellency Mette Knudsen, today paid a courtesy call on EACC Chair Rtd. Archbishop Eliud Wabukala at his Integrity Center offices in Nairobi.

During the meeting, the Commissions Deputy CEO, Mr. Michael Mubea, highlighted some of the organisations achievements. Among these were the recovery last year of Kshs 2 billion worth of stolen public assets and the arraignment in court of 1,000 senior government officials on corruption charges. In addition, he pointed out the continued growth of the EACC family with additional staff and establishment of more regional offices countrywide as a significant boost to the fight against corruption.

Mr. Mubea emphasized the need for political aspirants, as Kenya prepares for a General Election on August 8, to meet the integrity threshold provided for under various legal frameworks. On this note, he said the Commission and other State agencies, were currently vetting all the aspirants to ensure a transparent and accountable leadership.
