EACC, Vihiga County strengthen partnership in the fight against corruption

EACC Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Abdi Mohamud, on Wednesday, July 22,2026, paid a courtesy call on Vihiga County Governor H.E. Dr. Wilber Ottichilo to strengthen collaboration in the prevention and fight against corruption.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working together to promote integrity, accountability and good governance in the county. Mr. Mohamud commended the Vihiga County Government for its continued partnership with the Commission and emphasized that EACC’s mandate goes beyond investigations and arrests to include the promotion of ethics, integrity and leadership in public service.

“We are changing the narrative. Many Kenyans associate EACC with arrests, yet that is only one aspect of our mandate. We also promote ethics, integrity and leadership to prevent corruption before it occurs,” said the CEO.

The CEO also addressed the County Executive Committee, reiterating the Commission’s commitment to supporting the county in strengthening integrity systems and urging public officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, accountability and ethical leadership in service to the people of Vihiga.

Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo welcomed the partnership, noting that sustained collaboration between EACC and county governments is critical to winning the war against corruption and enhancing service delivery.
