Inspiring integrity through the power of storytelling

20:04:2026: The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), in partnership with the Kenya National Drama and Film Festivals 2026, used the national stage to promote integrity and accountability among young people through creative storytelling.

At the national festivals held at Kagumo Teachers Training College in Nyeri from April 6, learners, teachers, and stakeholders engaged with the Commission on the importance of ethical conduct in both artistic expression and everyday life. The initiative culminated in a State Concert at State House, Nairobi, on April 17, where top performances were honored.

Laiser Hill Academy emerged as a standout, winning the EACC trophy for their play “Wild of Hills,” a powerful depiction of the consequences of corrupt leadership. The award was presented by First Lady H.E. Racheal Ruto alongside EACC CEO Mr. Abdi Mohamud.

Earlier, the Commission had strengthened the festival’s ethics and anti-corruption focus by sensitizing over 2,000 adjudicators and trainers in Kisumu. This ensured that performances carried strong ethical messaging while upholding professionalism in adjudication.

Held under the theme “Bold Storytellers’ Digital Stages: Driving Kenya’s Development Through Theatre and Film,” the annual Ministry of Education festival brings together learners from across the country to showcase talent and influence national conversations.

Through its sponsorship of the ethics, integrity, and anti-corruption sub-theme, EACC continues to position young people as agents of change, using theatre and film to champion good governance and build a more accountable society.
