CEO Engages Regional Teams on Performance and Service Delivery
The Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Abdi Mohamud, this week undertook his first official visit since assuming office to the North Rift Regional Office in Eldoret, the Western Regional Office in Bungoma, the Central Nyanza Regional Office in Kisumu, and the South Nyanza Regional Office in Kisii.
The visit provided an opportunity for the CEO to engage directly with staff, listen to their experiences, and exchange views on strengthening performance and enhancing service delivery across the regions.
In candid one-on-one interactions and staff meetings, Mr. Mohamud applauded regional teams for their dedication, professionalism and the commendable work they continue to undertake in advancing the Commission’s mandate. He encouraged staff to remain focused on achieving both personal and departmental targets, noting that every employee plays a vital role in the success of the Commission.

The CEO also congratulated staff who had recently earned promotions, describing the recognition as a reflection of merit and commitment to duty. He reiterated that the Commission’s Staff Awards Policy is intended to recognize and celebrate employees who demonstrate exceptional performance and dedication.
“Serving the Commission is a unique responsibility,” Mr. Mohamud said. “I encourage you to be proud of your work, take your responsibilities seriously, and continue striving for excellence in everything you do.”

Director, Field Services, Mr. Jackson Mue, challenged regional teams to intensify their efforts to enhance the Commission’s visibility and impact across the country. He emphasized that the regions remain at the forefront of implementing the Commission’s mandate and urged staff to make the most of the invaluable professional experience gained through regional assignments.
“The experience gained while serving in the regions is invaluable,” he said. “Use every opportunity to grow professionally while ensuring that the Commission’s work is felt by the people we serve.”

Deputy Director, Human Resource Management, Ms. Petronila Kyengo, underscored the importance of teamwork as a key driver of the Commission’s success. Drawing inspiration from French football star Kylian Mbappé, the Golden Boot winner at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, she reminded staff that individual brilliance achieves its greatest value when it contributes to collective success.
“The goals Mbappé scored were for the French national team and for France as a country,” she observed. “In the same way, while each of us should strive to excel individually, our greatest achievements come when we work together towards the Commission’s shared goals.”

The regional teams, led by North Rift Regional Manager Major (Rtd) Kuntai ole Tingisha, Western Regional Manager Mr. Eric Ngumbi, Central Nyanza Regional Manager Mr. Abraham Kemboi and South Nyanza Regional Manager Mr. Alfred Mwachuga, reaffirmed their commitment to meeting and surpassing their performance targets.

The managers also expressed their appreciation to the CEO for his inclusive leadership and continued support for staff. They particularly welcomed the Commission’s recent staff welfare initiatives, including salary reviews and promotions that addressed long-standing career stagnation for many employees. They noted that these interventions had significantly boosted staff morale and motivation.
