01:07:2026: The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Abdi Mohamud, joined fellow heads of law enforcement and financial oversight agencies in reaffirming a shared commitment to accelerate Kenya’s exit from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list.

The agencies committed to strengthening collaboration in the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing by enhancing intelligence sharing, operational coordination, and implementation of the remaining actions under Kenya’s FATF Action Plan.

The commitment was made on June 30th during a high-level meeting that brought together Director of Public Prosecutions Renson Ingonga, Financial Reporting Centre Director General Naphtaly Rono, Director of Criminal Investigations Mohammed Amin, and principals from the Asset Recovery Agency (ARA) and the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).

The agency heads reaffirmed the Government’s whole-of-government approach to combating financial crime. They emphasized the need to harmonize reporting under the FATF Immediate Outcomes framework to demonstrate the effectiveness of Kenya’s anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CFT) regime.

The meeting also reviewed preparations for the forthcoming Africa Joint Group assessment and adopted a coordinated roadmap for implementing the remaining reforms within the agreed timelines.

The leaders expressed confidence that sustained collaboration and timely implementation of the action plan will strengthen Kenya’s response to financial crime, reinforce the integrity of the country’s financial system, and support the country’s successful exit from the FATF grey list.
