13:05:2026: The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has strengthened its corruption prevention efforts and promotion of integrity in public institutions following the launch of the County Corruption Prevention Committee (CPC) in Isiolo County and a parallel staff engagement tour at its Upper Eastern Regional Office.

The CPC was officially launched on May 11 during a courtesy visit by an EACC delegation led by Vice Chairperson Dr. Monica Muiru, MBS, and received by Deputy Governor Dr. James Lowasa alongside county leadership.

The initiative marks a key step in enhancing institutional accountability, transparency, and ethical governance within the county. The committee will focus on identifying corruption risks, strengthening compliance mechanisms, promoting ethical practices, and embedding a culture of integrity in public service delivery. The Commission, in partnership with GIZ Kenya, has now established CPCs in 15 counties.

During the same visit, Dr. Muiru toured the EACC Upper Eastern Regional Office in Isiolo, where she commended staff for their role in advancing the anti-corruption mandate. She described officers as the backbone of the Commission’s work and the “silent guardians of public trust,” noting that they operate on the frontlines of accountability in challenging environments.

Dr. Muiru also underscored the importance of teamwork within the Commission, saying it strengthens institutional effectiveness and enhances service delivery.

Upper Eastern Regional Manager Mr. Godfrey Oyugi welcomed the visit, noting it provided rare recognition of staff efforts and boosted morale.

The engagements highlighted the importance of collaboration between national and county institutions in strengthening governance systems, promoting accountability, and restoring public confidence in public service delivery.
