22:10:2025: The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), in collaboration with the Turkana County Public Service Board, has concluded a two-day training for County Chief Officers and Directors aimed at enhancing integrity, transparency, and accountability in public service delivery.

The capacity-building session focused on strengthening preventive measures against corruption and promoting ethical governance within the county administration.

Speaking at the workshop in Lodwar town, EACC North Rift Regional Manager Major (Rtd) Kuntai ole Tingisha urged officials to establish Corruption Prevention Committees (CPCs) at every administrative level, noting that such structures were vital in institutionalizing integrity and accountability across departments.

EACC’s role, Major (Rtd) Tingisha said, goes beyond enforcement. “Prevention is at our heart. By building strong systems and nurturing ethical leadership, we can prevent corruption before it happens and restore public trust in government institutions,” he said.

Turkana County Public Service Board Chairperson, Mr. Peter Ekunyuk, reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to promoting ethical governance and strengthening preventive measures against corruption within the public service.

“The Board remains committed to ensuring that integrity is not just a compliance requirement but a culture that defines how we serve our people. We appreciate our continued partnership with EACC in building a transparent and accountable public service in Turkana,” Mr. Ekunyuk said.

Following the training, the next phase will involve field exercises across sub-counties where trained officers will sensitize staff and coordinate the distribution and collection of Declaration of Income Assets and Liability (DIALS) 2025 forms.
