EACC rallies youth to stand firm against corruption
26:11:2025: EACC Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Abdi Mohamud, has urged young people across the country to take an active role in building a corruption-free Kenya, cautioning them against being used by leaders to derail anti-corruption efforts.
He made the remarks during a Youth Integrity Dialogue hosted by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) in partnership with the European Union and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The engagement, held at the Technical University of Mombasa, brought together young people, government officials, and governance experts under the theme Ethical Leadership for the Kenya We Want!
The dialogue sought to raise public awareness and strengthen youth involvement in combating corruption and unethical practices that continue to impede Kenya’s development.
Distinguished participants included Mr. Fikirini Jacobs, Principal Secretary for Youth and the Creative Economy; Prof. Kivutha Kibwana, former Governor of Makueni County; Ms. Asmert Tesfai, UNODC Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer; and Mr. Amani Katani, Executive Director of the Youth Empowerment Program Initiative.
Panelists underscored the central role of youth in advancing integrity and ethical leadership, while emphasizing the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in the fight against corruption.

In his remarks, PS Jacobs highlighted the long-term consequences of graft, noting that “the chain of corruption affects those in the moment and the people in years to come.” The PS urged young people to be ambassadors of ethics and integrity.
The Youth Integrity Dialogue forms part of broader efforts by EACC and its partners to empower young people and strengthen the fight against corruption across the country.
