EACC, World Bank Deepen Collaboration to Strengthen Oversight of Funded Projects
14:07:2025: The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) today hosted a high-level delegation from the World Bank’s Integrity Vice Presidency (INT), in a strategic meeting aimed at enhancing collaboration and strengthening oversight in the implementation of World Bank-funded projects in Kenya.
The World Bank delegation, led by Richelieu Lomax, Regional Team Leader for Africa East and South Investigations, underscored the importance of transparency and accountability in the use of development resources and reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the Commission. As part of the ongoing partnership, the World Bank offered to provide training for EACC officers on its operational systems and procedures.
This training is expected to enhance the capacity of EACC investigators—particularly in donor project-related investigations—thereby boosting the Commission’s ability to detect, investigate, and prevent corruption in externally funded initiatives.
The engagement marks a significant step in reinforcing institutional partnerships to protect public resources and promote effective service delivery through accountable project implementation.
Additionally, the World Bank delegation briefed EACC officials on the Program-for-Results (PforR), a financing instrument that supports development outcomes through a country’s own systems. The Integrity Vice Presidency plays a critical role in ensuring that PforR funds are managed with transparency and integrity, while supporting partner countries in strengthening their governance and oversight mechanisms
