15:05:2026: The Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Dr. David Oginde, has called for stronger unity among integrity actors to intensify the fight against corruption and safeguard accountability, as the Kenya Leadership and Integrity Forum (KLIF) convened its 58th National Coordinating Committee meeting in Nairobi.

The meeting, held yesterday at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, brought together government, private sector, civil society, and development partners to enhance coordination in advancing the national anti-corruption and integrity agenda.

Attorney General Hon. Dorcas Oduor, who chaired the session, said Kenya continues to make progress in strengthening anti-corruption systems through institutional reforms, policy implementation, and enhanced accountability mechanisms. She emphasized the need for sustained multi-sector collaboration to deepen governance reforms and entrench ethical leadership.

EACC Chief Executive Officer Mr. Abdi Mohamud described the forum as a call to action beyond dialogue, noting that it should reinforce partnerships and accelerate delivery of the national integrity agenda.

Dr. Oginde also urged sector coordinating committees to intensify public education on the impact of corruption, warning that as corruption networks become more organized, integrity actors must remain equally coordinated and proactive.

Providing an international perspective, Ms. Phindile Baleni shared South Africa’s experience in anti-corruption efforts, noting that effectiveness depends not only on institutions but also on clear mandates, strong coordination, and active citizen engagement. She added that corruption undermines development and dignity but can be curbed through collective action.

The meeting was attended by Auditor General Nancy Gathungu, Principal Secretary for the State Department of Justice Hon. Judith Pareno, Transparency International Executive Director Ms. Sheila Masinde, and other stakeholders.
