Meru Teachers Training College Joins Integrity Warriors Club

In an effort to win integrity champions and warriors across the Nation from both State and Public officers, the Commission continues to spread the word on the fight against graft and upholding ethical conduct in its daily discharge of duties.

The teaching and non-teaching staff of Meru Teachers Training College were the beneficiary of a sensitization programme conducted by the EACC Upper Eastern Regional Office (Isiolo). The programme saw the staff go through a range of topics fundamental in the discharge of duties for State and Public officers. The topics included Foundation and Understanding of Corruption and Unethical Conduct, Obligation of State and Public officers under Leadership and Integrity Act, 2012, Corruption Reporting Mechanisms, amongst others.

Present during the sensitization programme was the Chief Principal of Meru Teachers Training College, Dr. Faith M. Gichovi, who expressed her gratitude to EACC for the commitment in ensuring that the College staff got the training they required. She urged all the staff members to uphold integrity at all times and assured the Commission of her resolve to uphold ethical conduct.

EACC Commissioner, Dr. Dabar Abdi Maalim, who officially opened the workshop, urged the staff to be warriors in the fight against corruption and unethical conduct.  He pointed out that in doing so, the college students will emulate them as they are the examples that the students are looking upon. He emphasized that integrity should start at an early age and thus when trusted in positions of power, corruption will be less likely to occur.

He went ahead to thank the staff of Meru Teachers Training College for their willingness and commitment to learn and aspiration to become integrity warriors.
