Saudi Ambassador pays a courtesy visit to EACC

13:08:2026: The Chief Executive Officer of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Mr. Abdi Mohamud, today held a courtesy meeting with H.E. Saad bin Abdullah Alnofaia, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kenya, to reaffirm the longstanding bilateral relations between Kenya and Saudi Arabia and explore opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the fight against corruption further.

The meeting highlighted the growing cooperation between EACC and Saudi Arabia’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (NAZAHA), under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2023. The MoU provides a framework for collaboration in capacity building, knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices in anti-corruption and asset recovery.

Mr. Mohamud expressed EACC’s appreciation to NAZAHA for its continued support in strengthening the Commission’s institutional capacity through specialised training for its officers in asset recovery, beneficial ownership, illicit financial flows, and the investigation and prosecution of complex corruption cases. This has equipped officers with advanced skills to combat increasingly sophisticated forms of corruption.

The CEO emphasized the importance of international cooperation in tackling corruption, particularly offences that cross national borders and involve complex financial transactions. He also expressed the Commission’s interest in deepening cooperation to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in major investments and capital-intensive projects.

The engagement underscores EACC’s commitment to strengthening strategic international partnerships that enhance its capacity to prevent, investigate and combat corruption, recover illicitly acquired assets, and safeguard public resources for sustainable national development.
