Uphold integrity to curb land corruption, surveyors urged
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Chairperson Dr. David Oginde has urged surveyors to uphold professional integrity and safeguard public land, warning that land-related corruption can have lasting consequences for communities and future generations.
Speaking as Chief Guest at the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) Africa Regional Conference in Naivasha on 29 October 2026, Dr. Oginde called on practitioners to exercise diligence and professionalism in decisions affecting land ownership, use and management.

“The tragedy of land-related corruption has serious consequences that can endure for a very long time,” he said, noting that land has long been a source of conflict in Kenya.
Dr. Oginde also highlighted asset recovery as a key pillar of EACC’s Strategic Plan, reaffirming the Commission’s commitment to recovering public assets and protecting the public interest.
ISK President Eric Nyadimo urged members to uphold professional standards and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to working with EACC.

The two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding in September 2026 to strengthen collaboration in promoting integrity in the land sector.
The conference, held on 29–30 October 2026 under the theme “Catalyzing Sustainable Investment: The Role of Surveyors in the Blue, Green, and Built Economies,” explored the profession’s contribution to sustainable investment, environmental protection, and infrastructure development.
